Jon came into the business with his father Hank when he was in high school way back in 1979. At that time Hank operated a small garage at the corner of Highway 63 and 70 where McDonalds is today. He was right next to that business owned by Illinois people. There were all kinds of stories about just who was doing what at that place?

Jon attended WITC after high school though his training is ongoing yet today. He came into the business full time in 1981. It was now Hank & Jon’s and they moved to their present location at 216 Oak Street (across the street from the new Hardware Hank). The building was the old body shop for Kronlund Motors. They have always been the place to come for honest auto and truck repair, a hot cup of coffee and a good story. They still are.

Hank retired in 2006 but not until Jon’s son Roger joined the family business. Also a trained mechanic Roger started in 2005. This is truly a home grown family business. They look at customers like they are friends and treat them like they are family.

They work on almost all auto and truck repair as well as preventative work. They are right in town so Spooner residents can drop off the car and walk home, or to work, or Jon’s wife Shelly, she’s the glue that keeps the guys hopping, would be glad to give you a ride if she is available at the time. That’s just part of the family business, great service. Being friendly goes naturally at the hometown business. They hold A.S.E. Automotive Service Excellence certificates for mechanics. They know every part of your car or truck so you don’t have to.
